Villa Setting

The house is set on a hill at 400m above sea level in a quiet and peaceful area with fabulous views along 60kms of coastline. The open-plan design of the house allows the gentle breeze to flow throughout the house, while the covered terraces shelter guests from the midday sun.

The gardens are well stocked with local plants and trees and are floodlit at night. Next to the old cottage is an ancient corn threshing area which is now used for car parking. In winter the house is heated by radiators and there is a large log fire in the sitting room.

Bedrooms

Each of the six en-suite bedrooms is decorated with an international theme:

Provence (Master) reflects the blue light of the surrounding countryside and has its own private terrace with stunning views.

Morocco features hand-woven North African fabrics, hand carved chairs and brass ornaments, as well as an ornate blue-tiled shower room.

Africa is decorated with carved furniture and wooden masks, and features a dramatic wet room with pebbled floor and reed vaulted ceiling.

Arizona reflects the bright colours of the Arizona desert scenery and the bathroom has a traditional adobe bath.

India features silver and enamel antique doors, ornate carved wood and bone furniture and hand-woven Kashmiri rugs. The traditional Indian marble and tiled bathroom is decorated with murals depicting views of India.

Thailand is decorated with Thai artifacts featuring a reed covered ceiling, dark wood and white walls.

All bedrooms are fitted with a ceiling fan and because of the altitude cool breezes flow throughout the house providing natural air-conditioning. All beds (except Provence) are ‘zip and link’ so can be made into ‘twin’. ‘Z’ beds are available for additional children. Each bedroom has its own wall safe for valuables.

Dining Room

The entire windowed wall of the dining room folds back so that it becomes part of the garden in summer, giving the choice of eating at the dining table, which seats twelve comfortably, or under the adjacent terrace which has a larger table that seats up to twenty.

Kitchen

The open-plan Provencale rustic marble kitchen includes a five-burner range and two full-size electric ovens, a fridge, microwave and dishwasher. The large central island incorporates red and white wine chiller cabinets and a commercial ice machine in addition to an American-style fridge-freezer with ice machine. There is also a gas barbecue on the terrace outside the dining room.

Sitting Room

The sitting room is a large, open-plan space, with one seating area centred around the log fireplace and the other round the television and library. It has a magnificent panoramic view stretching over 60kms of coastline from Eze to La Napoule. The French windows retract so the room opens up onto the sea view terrace which provides an ideal area for entertaining. There is also a Roland electric piano.

Entertainment

There is broadband wi-fi throughout the house and pool hut, TV with satellite and internet connection, extensive film and music database via Apple TV, music using hi-fi, radios and Bose iPod speakers. There is also an extensive choice of board games and books.

Play Room

The playroom is the perfect place to keep your little ones occupied, with a wide range of toys and games. On the ground floor, it opens onto the paved area outside the kitchen that leads onto the lawn, allowing easy monitoring of their activities. There are also four (3’6″) bunk beds for either children or adult ‘overflow’!

Pool

The 14x6m swimming pool has an electric pool cover for safety. Filtration is via a salt system instead of chlorine. Heating is available as an additional cost. The pool hut has a covered terrace with a dining table which comfortably sits 10 people. There is also a small shower-room with a loo.

Gym

The gym includes 12 machines, free weight bars and dumbbells.

Outdoor Sports

Other facilities include table tennis, badminton, trampoline and a boules pitch.

Al Fresco

In addition to the dining room and adjacent terrace, meals can be served under the shade of the pool hut or the terrace overlooking the sea view, which also doubles as a wonderful place for evening cocktails.

The grounds are extensively lit for parties and al fresco dining at night which creates a memorable ambiance.
